Daniel at the Olympics

We were watching the women's gymnastics portion of the Olympics last night with Daniel--because he refused to go to bed. He was watching when he decided to do his best imitation of the balance beam. He thinks he is pretty good. I give him a 10.0!!

Weekend Adventures

This weekend we tried to keep ourselves busy and active hoping to induce the elusive labor. We weren't successful in that venture, but we did have fun. Friday morning Josh went to a birthday party of a little girl in the neighborhood. Judging by the goody bag he got to bring home he seemed to have fun. We also tried some geocaching, but we have lost our touch and weren't too successful in finding any of the 'treasures' we searched for. We even looked for our own caches, but they have been muggled. We will have to replace them when we get some more time.

Saturday we ran a few errands and then took the kids to the Gateway fountains in Salt Lake. They were pretty hesitant at first, but after a bribe or two they were more than happy to get wet. Matthew found a light in the ground and stepped on it thinking by doing that he was turning on the the fountains. It got him pretty excited. Daniel had fun until he looked straight into a fountain as it was turning on and got squirted pretty good in the eyes. He was not so interested in playing after that. Josh played until he was totally soaking wet.

It has been a while since we have had an embarrassing moment at church so Matthew made sure he would make up for it. During sacrament meeting, which was quite BORING, the first speaker seemed to droan on and on. That's when Matthew asked Aaron in his outside voice, "IS HE DONE TALKING, YET?" I know all of us were thinking it, but no one dared say it :). I did get released from Young Women today. I am kind of sad, but they need someone to fill in for me while I take my 'maternity leave' from church.

Pregnancy Update

We had an OB visit yesterday and everything looks pretty good. The night before the visit I was having pretty regular, painful contractions so we thought it might be the real thing, but alas they slowed down in the morning. I am still getting regular contractions, but they don't really hurt anymore--so much for getting our hopes up. I am dilating and am currently at 3 1/2 cm, however. Unfortunately not enough to send me over to the hospital which would be at 5 cm, but maybe by next visit... The OB said he would be surprised to see us at next weeks appointment, but I heard that for three weeks when I was pregnant with Josh so we'll see. It might be kind of fun to have her on the date 08/08/08, but I am not about to do anything drastic, yet.

We got our first tomato from our garden today. I couldn't wait for Aaron to come home so I ate it for lunch. It was really yummy!! We also had a few zucchinis so I made some zucchini bread as well. I was feeling quite domestic today if you couldn't tell.

I am officially on the injured/reserve list at church. Our bishop likes to give all pregnant moms a reprieve from callings two months before they're due and six months after the baby is born. He believes their calling during that time is being a Mom. I should be released from Young Women Sunday--now that's a SHOULD be so we'll see what happens. The only thing scary about that is you don't know what is coming around the corner in 6 months...:)

Chuck-E-Cheese

For Matthew's B-Day we met Grandma and Grandpa Terry at Chuck-E-Cheese's for dinner and some fun. The kids all had a lot of fun.

Happy 7th B-Day Matthew!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today is Matthew's 7th birthday. I was looking back at some pictures and it just amazes me how far he has come. We love him and are so happy he is part of our family. The middle picture is one of my favorites because he wouldn't smile for the camera until this shot, but you can tell his real feelings by looking at what his finger is doing. It seems like he was just born. I guess time flies when you are having fun.

Birthdays

This weekend was pretty boring. We were stuck at home most of Friday because Josh was so drunk from the IV sedation we really couldn't go anywhere. He still couldn't even touch his toes without falling over Friday night. He didn't think he had any impairment so he kept getting up and trying to move around. One time he even made it all the way up to our bedroom only to fall hitting the wall with his head. While we were stuck at home we managed to clean the house though. I was putting away some more of Sarah's things when I turned around just in time to see Daniel swallow a mouthful of A&D ointment. He picked it up thinking it was toothpaste--something he loves to eat anyway--and squirt a bunch into his mouth. I wish I had a picture of his face after he tasted it. It was pretty funny. I am hoping he won't like toothpaste as much now. He has turned into quite the Momma's boy. He will not have anything to do with Aaron anymore. I think he knows something is going to happen so he just wants me for EVERYTHING. I am sure I will have him on my lap every time I am holding Sarah--whether feeding her or holding her. It will be interesting because neither Josh or Matthew were ever the jealous type. I think we are going to have a problem with Daniel, though.

Saturday Josh went to a friend's birthday party. They had it at a playland which Josh enjoyed. The rest of Saturday we spent cleaning out the garage and the car--No I am NOT nesting. These are things that have been on my to do list for a couple months and Aaron was home this weekend to help so that's what we did. The pictures are of the kids "helping" us by unrolling the paper towels and trying to push as many buttons in the van as possible before we catch them. Today at church they sang Happy Birthday to Matthew because his birthday is this week. He was absolutely convinced that it really was his birthday today. There is no amount of talking him out of it either. He will just have two birthdays this week. We asked him what he wanted for his B-Day and he thought about it finally telling us he wanted candles for his cake. If only all kids were that easy to please!!!

MRI

Josh had his MRI with sedation this morning and he's pretty out of it. He even asked his nurse if she was a girl--Aaron didn't quite know what to say. He tried to blame it on the meds, but Josh hadn't gotten anything yet. Aaron was wondering himself, anyway. Josh is slurring his speech and falls over once he's standing, but he still thinks he can get up and around. I guess that's what being drunk is like. It is going to be hard to keep him down today. Aaron had to take him to the hospital this morning because there was a small chance they were going to use contrast during the MRI which is radioactive and is not so good for pregnant people to be around. It was also a good thing he went because Josh had a hard time staying in the wheelchair on the way out to the car so Aaron ended up carrying him most of the way--he is over 50 pounds, too. Good news is the radiologist came to see Aaron right after and said everything looked normal. The neurologist also called me at home an hour later to say the same so it seems it is an electrical problem rather than a structural problem which is a BIG relief!! Since we have started meds we haven't seen anything suspicious so we assume they are working. It is hard because Josh has the seizures at night and would wake up with weird bruises or scrapes that he couldn't explain. We haven't seen any of that lately so we're hoping they are controlled.

Tomorrow is the big Terry family reunion, but unfortunately we aren't able to go. With it being 8000+ feet in elevation and me already dilated and it being about 90 minutes away from the hospital--it just wasn't a good idea. If my membranes ruptured I would be one of those people that would have their baby in the car which is not an experience I want. Also I am not quite 37 weeks either which is still pretty early to be having her. Maybe next time.

I also got out of girl's camp this year as well. It was this week and at the same place the family reunion is. I hope everything went well for them because they had 17 girls go and only three leaders could go with them--one being the camp director. I would have gone had I not been pregnant. Maybe next time.

We got some yummy cucumbers from our garden this week. I am looking forward to a fresh tomato--but all of them are still green.
