Jill's baby, named Sydney Taylor Nelson, was born Tuesday around 5 pm. Jill's water had broken that morning and her labor progressed to the point they couldn't stop it. Luckily, Jeff, her husband, was able to make it in time for the delivery. Jill was 27 weeks and 6 days pregnant so her little girl was pretty early. She weighed in at 2 pounds 13 ounces and was 15 inches long. She is currently in the NICU, but doing pretty well considering how early she was. I got to meet her for the first time last night and she is very little, but very cute. Jill is doing fabulous and is excited to finally be able to get out of bed and walk around after two weeks of complete bed rest. They guesstimate Sydney's discharge date around Jill's due date which was August 4th so Jill will be staying with us for a while until she can go back home to Texas. Here's some pictures of Sydney:
This picture shows her with her biliruben mask on. She is under the biliruben lights since she was jaundiced and the mask helps protect her eyes.
All the nurses know me and Jill since we have been going almost every day to the NICU since Noah was born. Sydney's nurse, standing next to me in the picture, took care of Noah too while he was in the NICU.

Such a tiny little girl! So cute too! I'm glad that everything went well & hope that everything continues to go well & that Sydney gets out of there as soon as she can.
Oh Sydney - such a cute little peanut! She's the same size Elizabeth was when she was born at 31 1/2 weeks, so I'd say that's definitely to her advantage. Prayers that she'll be healthy and grow well over the next few weeks so she can go home!
