For New Year's Eve we had a few friends over to help us ring in the new year. Josh and his friend were quite determined to stay up until midnight. The rest of the kids dropped like flies--it was just too late for them all to stay awake. Josh made it to midnight, but as soon as the clock turned to 12 he asked if he could go to bed. I am excited to see 2011 start and I am even more excited for our Flex Spending Account to be reset--Wahoo!! I am hoping we have a better year as far as my family's health goes--2010 was a doozy!!
Yesterday was Great Grandpa Terry's 91st birthday. To continue on with the yearly tradition that has been going on since 1965, we had the annual Pig-Out feast and then a rowdy game of BINGO to celebrate. There are a bunch of people--so many there isn't a restaurant big enough to hold everyone so we have it at my Aunt's church building. Every family, including all Great Grandpa and Grandma T's 5 children, their 5 children's children (roughly 28), and the 28's children as well as a few great, great grandkids, bring a few wrapped gifts (usually the same gifts from last year's game of bingo) and set them out around the tables. This year Matthew, Josh and Daniel really got into the spirit of the game. They were so excited every time they could shout out BINGO!! Like always we got a bunch of gifts we will put back into storage to bring out for next year's Bingo game. It's a fun tradition!! Matthew was pretty excited when he got to help Grandpa T emcee the Bingo game. We were a little worried at first because Matthew and microphones usually don't make a great combination, but he did really well and had lots of fun.
Sarah had to have a Bingo card like everyone else even though she had more fun just playing with the actual card than attempting to play bingo.
