The Dentist, Sarah, Sunscreen and Markers and Little Rookies

Tonight Daniel started his rookie league training. It's where learn how to throw, catch and bat a baseball with a parent. Daniel seemed to have some talent in this area. Aaron went with him and they had some father son bonding time which consisted of Daniel hitting Aaron in the head with the bat and again on his hand. Other than that they had fun. Aaron says it will my turn to take him next time. Better start looking for a catcher's face mask to protect my head from his swinging bat!!Summer has started out with a bang. Yesterday we re-listed our house under a different agent and so I had to spend the day cleaning and rearranging stuff in order to take the pictures. I didn't have time to put the clean laundry away. Let me just say laundry is the bane of my existence!! It never ends and with five messy kids and an equally messy husband the dirty clothes really pile up! They even seem to reproduce in the laundry room before wash day comes around again. Anyway, back to taking the pictures--I didn't have time to put the clean clothes away so I just moved the baskets around so they wouldn't be in the pictures--or so I thought. It wasn't until Aaron tried to download the pictures a few hours later that he discovered what I had done. Look in the mirror and you can see my pile 'o clothes that I thought was hidden over by the front door, but the mirror gave my secret away--DOH!! We had to retake that picture--dang laundry!!In the process of me going around the house and psuedo cleaning, Sarah took advantage of my inattentiveness and got into my brand new, previously unopened bottle of sunscreen and smeared it all over herself. I didn't know until Daniel came and said to me, "Sarah got into something." That sentence never does mean anything good--ever! This is what I came downstairs and saw:FYI she didn't get sunburned at all yesterday which is good because you know how those fluorescent light bulbs can burn--insert the rolling of eyes at this point. She didn't stop at the sunscreen either. As soon as my attention was turned back to the picture taking, she got into some markers (mostly the black one) and colored everywhere on herself. Her favorite spots were her arms, hands and face. What am I going to do with this girl?!

This afternoon the kids all had their semi-annual dentist appointments. Sarah even let them do whatever they wanted to her after she saw her brothers get it done. She got X-ray, the full cleaning and examination without even a whimper. When her turn was done she got her baggy of floss, toothbrush and toothpaste and went over to the waiting room to sit down. Again she took advantage of the inattentiveness of her parents and went to work flossing her own teeth while using a large amount of the floss container she had just gotten. Too bad she hadn't flossed a little better before the visit because she ended up with one cavity. Daniel ended up with three cavities. I am NOT looking forward to getting them fixed, but at least we have a month to work up to that outing. Noah even had his first dental check, too since he already has 8 teeth. He was happy when we got to the office:However, he did not like his examination as you can see: and hear (Daniel took the video of Noah after the examination and you can just hear him screaming):

Of course we can't have summer vacation without signing up for the kids' bowling passes! We went for the first time today and everyone seemed to love it (except for the people in the lanes next to our family). Anyway I asked the kids to smile for a picture. Matthew was the only one who listened. Josh tried to pull a funny face, but it looks like he is having some constipation issues and Sarah is looking at him to make sure he's ok.

Sarah got catered to the whole time. When it was her turn her brothers got out the ramp, got the ball, put it on the ramp and waited for her to come push it down the lane. Sarah is not only spoiled by Aaron and me, but by her brothers, too.

At the first part of the game she sat down and cheered for her brothers after each turn. At the end of the game she was up wandering around, but she wasn't as bad as last year, though. Well two days of summer down and only a ton more to go. Bring it on!!
