The Big Piano Recital

Tonight was Josh and Matthew's piano recital. They have been taking lessons for a few months and they got to perform for the first time tonight. It went exceptionally well which was a relief. I know I always have stress getting up in front of people, but they had no problems whatsoever. Matthew was excitedly waiting his turn. When it was his turn he bounded up to the front introduced himself in one breath as, "MynameisMatthewI'mgoingtoplayUpOnTheHousetop." and ran over to the piano in about 5 seconds so he was done by the time we got the camera on. He was so excited to play his part. We did get his song recorded, though.

Josh was excited to play his part to. He got up and introduced himself and played his song. Afterward he finished and we thought he would go and sit right back down, but he turned into a big ham and bowed then took a few steps and bowed about 10 more times before sitting down. The bowing part got cut off because it went on for so long afterward. Josh played Jolly Old St. Nicholas.

Afterward we went and got Pace Bars (Daniel friendly popsicles) at the local fast food joint. Aaron tries to see how fast he can get the kids to eat their popsicles under the guise of a contest. In all reality he just likes to see them get brain freezes--such a mean Dad! Here's Daniel's brain freeze. Daniel gets quite angry when it happens. I have to admit it is funny to watch. Does that make me a mean Mom?
